Happy CANADA day!
Ice-cream is a perfect treat during the hot summer weather. Why not give your dog some ice cream as well? No, I am not talking about giving your dog some rich double churn chocolate ice-cream. Here is a recipe you can make that is safe and fun for your pet.
Remember not to use chocolate in any dog treats. Instead, use Carob chips. Carob is safe for dogs and is therefore used for flavoring in pet foods and treats. Carob chips are used as a health-food substitution.
Make doggy ice-cream swirl for your next puppy party. They will howl with joy!
You'll need:
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup carob chips
plain yogurt
1) Melt carob chips in the microwave. Stirring every 30 seconds or so, until fully melted.
2) Mix peanut butter into the melted carob. Mix well. This is enough for about 12 portions.
3) Spoon a big tablespoon of yogurt into each muffin cup liner.
4) Add a small teaspoon of the carob butter in the middle of each yogurt filled cup.
5) Use a toothpick to swirl the carob butter with the yogurt.
6) Freeze until solid and serve.
